Where can I purchase your books?
You can go into any bookstore, i.e. Borders, Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks, etc. and have them order my books. Also, www.amazon.com carries my entire book line as well as my publisher who can be reached at
www.a-argusbooks.com.
Will there be any more Sammi Evans mysteries?
Yes, my fourth book is close to completion now. And I believe I have a few more books in me. I want to use all my characters in this series to create adventures that should fascinate and entice all of you to come back for more and more.
What is your background in writing?
I’ve written ever since I can remember. It started as a child when I used to write everyone’s birthday cards in my family. Then I used to write a lot of verses and people hired me to write verses for special occasions. Then at Madonna University, I studied creative writing. Later on, I learned to play the guitar and began writing my own words and music to songs. I went on to writing articles, many of which were published and finally tried my hand at writing books.
How did Sammi feel growing up with her special gift?
Of course, Sammi felt very comfortable with her Grandpa Logan around because he also could hear other people’s thoughts. But he was the only one she knew who had this special gift. After he died when Sammi was fourteen years old, she felt lost and alone for quite a while. No one else understood her and she felt somewhat weird in her awkward growing years. She didn’t find anyone she could trust with her secret. But then in high school she made friends with Julie Watson who had her own secret and the two of them were able to comfort and encourage each other.

If they make a movie out of your Sammi Evans books, who would you like to play Sammi Evans and Dave Patterson? |
That’s a great question. I’d have to think about that a little. There are many good actors and actresses out there. I have my own picture in my mind of these two lead characters. Maybe one day I could draw a picture of them and have people suggest who they would like to see in their roles.
Are there any other books written by you?
There are two other books written by me, but they are not mysteries. If they are still available it would be on www.amazon.com and they are entitled, “All the Way To Home” and “I Thought My Name Was Sarah.” These books deal with the shaky world of some adopted children and their unique view of life.
What books do you like to read?
I’m all over the place in my reading world. I love Emerson and Thoreau, but I still enjoy Agatha Christie’s special twists in her mysteries. I also enjoy books on the mystery of the universe and what we can do for ourselves by the power of our thoughts. In that vein I like Stuart Wilde and U. S. Andersen as well as other mystic writers.
How many hours a day do you write? What is your workday like?
First of all, I write everyday without fail. It’s just something I have to do. I usually wake up fresh from my dream world and after a glass of water and a quick cup of herb tea, I sit down and write for at least two hours. I’m caregiver for my mom right now so when she gets up she needs all my attention. But then, when I get her settled in again, I usually eat lunch --- my favorite is cucumber sandwiches, but then I’m a proper food combiner, and next I’ll write for maybe another two or three hours or until mom gets up again. The same is repeated after dinner. Writing is the main part of my day so I guess I write at least six or seven hours a day.
Will Sammi and Dave have any children? What about Tom and Jill or Julie and Jim?
Ha, Ha, you’ve got me there. I’ve had some thoughts about that, but I couldn’t divulge them to you right now. That would ruin the future suspense of my books. You’ll have to keep reading my novels to find out.
Do you write anything from personal experience?
Almost everything I write deals with a little personal experience or at least from the experiences of those around me. I do believe in the power of thoughts on your life. I wish I could do as much as Sammi does, but I can’t, at least not yet. Who knows about the future? Maybe if I keep my thoughts going in the right direction, something unusual may happen.
I do believe that we become who we are in the present because of all the experiences we’ve grown through. So everything we do is from personal experience. |
